Talk:Projects:Go Bible/Go Bible Creator
Page purpose
This new page is intended to contain a description of Go Bible Creator together with instructions on how to use it. My plan is to start off by copying the content of Jolon's page and bring it more up to date. David Haslam 14:40, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
- I've made a good start, yet there is still a long way to go. David Haslam 19:39, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
Java Web Start
It would be useful to provide a demo of Go Bible that can be accessed from a browser using Java Web Start. By calling the Java ME emulator from Mplayit.com and specifying the URL for a suitable Go Bible application, it would be possible to launch it directly from a web page. Providing the user already had Java SE installed, they would see the Go Bible running in the emulator in a popup window. Admittedly, this would include some advertising in the side panel. - This would make a huge improvement to the Go Bible screenshots page. David Haslam 10:01, 6 December 2011 (MST)
Version 2.4.5
Go Bible Creator version 2.4.5 is currently at the testing stage and will be released shortly. David Haslam 09:27, 30 December 2012 (MST)
- This version makes use of the open-source JFlex based lexical parser to improve and enhance the parsing of USFM files. David Haslam 04:01, 31 December 2012 (MST)
USFMSettings.txt
The documentation for USFM-ParseConfig may require further revision. In my Windows PC, I have confirmed that this works:
Source-Text: .\USFM Source-Format: usfm Source-FileExtension: usfm USFM-TitleTag: \id // Path is relative to Source-Text directory USFM-ParseConfig: ..\USFMSettings.txt
i.e. providing USFMSettings.txt has been copied to the folder containing the collections text file. Omitting the USFM-ParseConfig property didn't work, even when USFMSettings.txt was located in the same folder as gobiblecreator.jar David Haslam 07:14, 3 March 2014 (MST)
