Bibliquest information

The information about the recent update was in an email from the Bibliquest webmaster. David Haslam 19:55, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

Yes, this is work in progress. Some of the corrections are errors I found while building Sword module and sent to Bibliquest. Skc 20:30, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

Coloured asterisks in the source text?

[1] refers to Green & Red Asterisks in the source text. How should these be rendered in the SWORD module? David Haslam 12:06, 17 July 2011 (MDT)

  • Green asterisks are just notes and are tagged as notes in the OSIS file. There is no more asterisks.
  • Red asterisks are rendered as asterisks in the text, as in the printed edition, and as specified on FreJND with U+2731, U+2606 and U+2605

Note also that:

  • Green text are notes content, and tagged as notes
  • Green text between square bracket are reference in the old testament and are rendered as notes with type=crossReference, as done in the printed edition.

Reformat in USFM ?

In view of the very unusual markup used in the source text, this would be a good candidate for having the whole source text converted to USFM format. This would result in a far more standardized FreJND for wider use than the SWORD module. (The new module could then be made via usfm2osis and related Perl scripts, followed by osis2mod.) i.e. If we decide to pursue this suggestion, we could provide the USFM files back to Bibliquest as a service to them in their ministry. Double dagger symbol

The double dagger symbol (U+2021) needs explaining, as found in

Acts 16:30: Et les ayant menés dehors, il dit : ‡Seigneurs, que faut-il que je fasse pour être sauvé ?
