Technical Support Volunteer
The SWORD Project is in need of long time SWORD software users to be able to answer questions that come into our support mailing list. You do not need to be a developer to be able to answer questions, many of the questions are just simple "Where is something?" questions.
If you would like to become a technical support volunteer please first read the Volunteers Quick Start Page and then complete the steps below:
- Subscribe to the sword-support mailing list by sending an e-mail to sword-support mailing list with subscribe in the body of the e-mail.
- Post a message on the mailing list (firstname.lastname@example.org) letting everyone know you are coming on to help. Someone may contact you with more information about helping, or just to say thanks for coming on! :)
- You will start to receive e-mails that have [sword-support] in the subject line. Just look through those e-mails and see if there is a question you can answer. If there is one then respond to it by clicking the reply button in your e-mail program. This way a copy of what you replied will go to the mailing list as well as to the person asking the question. This lets others know that someone has already answered that specific e-mail. So on the flip side be careful that you look through all the e-mails in your inbox to see if someone else has already answered a question.
