Please do not add anything to this page unless you are actually working with the module submission system. If you have a comment to make - add it to this talk page. If it is useful I will add it to the actual page refdoc:talk
Link to confmaker.pl broken
I think there is a typo in the link to confmaker.pl:
The link to confmaker.pl (Section: 4. if you can run Perl please run confmaker.pl on your text ..) returns 404, "The requested URL /svn/sword-tools/trunk/modules/conf/confmaker.pl|sword-tools was not found on this server."
I think the URL should be: https://crosswire.org/svn/sword-tools/trunk/modules/conf/confmaker.pl
As well, the repository name 'sword-tools' is missing after the words "(found in the repository )"
For module updates, please start from the most recently released copy of the .conf file
We are seeing cases where the .conf file submitted with a module update is not based upon editing a copy of the most recently released version from CrossWire. As a consequence, earlier mistakes are repeated and some history items are omitted. We need to prevent this re-occurring. David Haslam (talk) 15:52, 3 March 2020 (UTC)
Renaming modules?
Does the How-To section about Naming Modules apply only to new modules at first release?
Or does it apply to module updates, even for a module that was first released well before this policy was agreed & documented?
Isn't there a risk of confusing users or alienating source text providers if we change module names unnecessarily?
